Optimizing content doesn’t have to be complicated! There aren’t any tricks or secret formulas, just a few things you need to remember:
- Create high-quality content. Above all else, remember that you’re writing for people, not just for search engines. Good content makes for happy readers, which makes it more likely to be shared and linked to elsewhere on the web. This drives traffic and those links help your SEO ranking.
- Use keywords that people are actually searching for. This is probably the most important step when trying to improve SEO. You might be using keywords but if no one is using them in their searches, you won’t see results. Use a tool like Google Keyword Planner to look for relevant keywords, then use those words naturally in your writing. A few strategically placed keywords will improve your SEO far more than a dozen misplaced ones that no one is searching for.
- Make sure your title tags are on point. Title tags are the clickable headlines in search results that tell search engines and users what your site is about. These are also the headlines that get displayed when your content is shared on social media. To get the most out of them, make sure they contain accurate keywords and are enticing so readers want to click on them.
While you could spend a lot of time trying to learn all the ins and outs of SEO, these are the main things to keep in mind when optimizing your content.
